Seersucker Suits
Named after the east Indian phrase “shir-o-shakar” or milk and sugar, seersucker is a throw back to suits from years past. Worn all over the world, from the British gentlemen adventurers in the deserts of Africa, to the American river boat gamblers on the Mississippi, seersucker suits are perfect for all types of warm weather.
Unlike its summer time cousin linen, seersucker suits are almost impervious to noticeable wrinkling. This is mostly because the 100% cotton seersucker fabric is woven wrinkled to begin with. The alternating smooth and crinkled stripe, is achieved by using a slack weaving technique which creates the trademark alternating texture. Its this very texture that allows air to circulate freely through out the seersucker suit and keeps the fabric mostly held away from the skin. The end result is a cooler less sweaty you.
Our custom seersucker suits can be made in a variety of ways, as a formal constructed suit with canvas interlining and light shoulder padding or as a soft and un-constructed sack suit to maximize its warm weather performance.
